View of Neuschwanstein Castle and lake in the mountains

Neuschwanstein Castle, located in the German Alps, which offers a magnificent view of the mountains, began to be built in 1869. It's considered the creation of Ludwig II, who took part in the development of each drawing. It's believed that the construction of the castle was inspired by the king's love for the opera about the swan knight Lohengrin by composer Richard Wagner. The name of the castle in German means "new swan stone", and in general, much of its architecture is associated with swans, the castle even has a fountain in the shape of these animals. Also near the castle, there is a lake called Schwansee, which means "swan lake".
